Why did you make a website?

I want a place to share things with others, to give back to the community, so a dedicated website fits that job very well. My idea is to use this website to post blogs and my other work so that they have a place to stay.

I also want to have a chance to translate my nonsense to as many languages as I can so that it is more approachable for more people, especially language learners who want to use my website as a learning resource for real-world text. However, I should be clear that the translations are best-effort and are usually in a casual tone rather than an informal one, so beginner learners should beware.

Why don't you use JavaScript?

I want to create a website that doesn't require JavaScript and I want to stay that way for as long as possible. HTML and CSS has enough for me to use for such a simple personal blog website.

JavaScript doesn't seem ideal for me. It can make a webpage very resource-intensive, its behavior is very chaotic, and I respect your privacy so that you can disable JavaScript on this website.

What is your writing process?

My writing process is very messy because I don't usually create a draft before finalizing it. It is something that I should work on so that I don't have to look back at previous blogs and think that I could do better than that.

I prefer writing in English first, because it doesn't use as much keystrokes as other languages to convey the same information. Plus, it is a simple language that many people know around the world, so it reach out to more people than using a hard language that not many people understand.

After finishing writing the English version, I will start translating it into other languages. I try to keep the original meaning from the English version, but I also try to have some freedom with my translations. It is my website after all.
